Description

The Queen Elizabeth Bedspread was first introduced by Bates in 1953, in commemoration of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation. The design was also inspired by an intricate quilt originating from the Elizabethan Era, so the name was fitting in more ways than one.

This vintage-inspired matelassé bedspread was the first of its kind to be woven on a mechanical loom, and it has been in continuous production for over 60 years (second in age only to the our classic Martha Washington’s Choice Bedspread).

This cotton matelassé bedspread commands attention with an elegant center medallion and structured framework surrounded by soft florals. The iconic design has also been known in the past as the "Elizabethan Court."

Great Quality

The tradition of quality products produced by the Bates Mill, has been carried forward by the current producer. I have had this same version of a Bates Bedspread on my various beds for more than 50 years. I am very pleased with the quality of my new bedspread.

My Childhood Favorite - All Over Again

As a girl, my Mother and Grandmother always had Bates Queen Elizabeth spreads on their beds. When I got a room of my own, I chose a Williamsburg style canopy bed and, of course HAD to have the only bedspread made for me. I'm now retired and sleeping in my Grandmother's bed. Our new Linen/White Queen Elizabeth spread is gorgeous and makes the circle complete! Generations of soft, well-made bedspreads have made me a customer for life. So glad to have a new color and look for our bedroom. God bless your craftsmen and women for their passion for excellence, and for creating family traditions!

The bedspread is very well made. The design is very nice. It is well worth the cost for such beautifully made in USA bedspread. We got the French blue color which we really like.

Great quality bedspread

I ordered a Queen Elizabeth queen sized bedspread from Bates Mill Store a few weeks ago. It arrived very fast, and is just beautiful. Perfect on our Statton cherry high poster bed.
