Featuring a pattern of lattice work and scallop shells, the Cape Cod Cotton Matelasse Bedspread is a heavyweight design favored for its subtle coastal theme that fits any decor.
Originally introduced as a flat jacquard in the 1970s, this design was discontinued when Bates slowed their weaving of “flat jacqs” in favor of the more popular matelasse bedspreads. In the early 2000s, the Cape Cod was reintroduced as the matelasse bedspread we continue to produce today.

This is my second Bates bedspread. The first is 15 years old and still beautiful. This one (Cape Code in White) arrived yesterday and lived up to all my expectations. Thank you for making such beautiful quality spreads.
The woven material is fantastically strong. This is a high-end product at an extremely reasonable price. And it is beautiful! We have three cats who (unintentionally) ruined our previous bedspread (from a different manufacturer), but this one is strong enough (due to the high quality yarn and the great weave) that the cats aren't damaging it. We are extremely pleased!

I recently received the Cape Cod full size bedspread in wedgewood blue for our coastal home. I had to wait a little bit longer because it had to be made but it was worth the wait. The quality of workmanship is exceptional and it looks beautiful on our antique brass bed. This is not my first purchase from Bates Mill Store and certainly will not be my last. I appreciate USA (Maine) made products.
