Featuring a pattern of lattice work and scallop shells, the Cape Cod Cotton Matelasse Bedspread is a heavyweight design favored for its subtle coastal theme that fits any decor.
Originally introduced as a flat jacquard in the 1970s, this design was discontinued when Bates slowed their weaving of “flat jacqs” in favor of the more popular matelasse bedspreads. In the early 2000s, the Cape Cod was reintroduced as the matelasse bedspread we continue to produce today.

After 30+ yrs…yes the last Bates I still have with a couple places I had to sew. That bedspread lasted thru 6 Labradors on our bed & it’s held up extremely well. I purchased the white cape cod as backup. Extremely well made. Why? Because it’s USA made in Maine by our friends & neighbors. Top Notch. Keep up the fantastic hard work 💪❤️🇺🇸

First heard of Bates Mill Store on Maine Cabin Masters. Grew up with these types of bedspreads at my grandparents. Have two older versions, not Bates but similar construction. Love them but they are the wrong sizes for my current beds. Excited to purchase one of my very own that fits. Beautiful construction, nice weight, seem to be high quality. Have not laundered yet but so far have no complaints. Nice coverage for my king sleep number bed.

I was wondering how long it would take me to receive the bedspread. There wasn’t any info when I ordered it about how long it takes. Someone opened my Shop App and pressed the received button, but I don’t have the bedspread yet. Can you help?
