Featuring a pattern of lattice work and scallop shells, the Cape Cod Cotton Matelasse Bedspread is a heavyweight design favored for its subtle coastal theme that fits any decor.
Originally introduced as a flat jacquard in the 1970s, this design was discontinued when Bates slowed their weaving of “flat jacqs” in favor of the more popular matelasse bedspreads. In the early 2000s, the Cape Cod was reintroduced as the matelasse bedspread we continue to produce today.

Beautiful, very well made bedspread. We love the texture and weight for a late fall, winter, early spring bedspread. Workmanship and quality is top shelf. Very much worth the wait for made-in-America, bespoke like quality.

This is my second Bates bedspread. The first is 15 years old and still beautiful. This one (Cape Code in White) arrived yesterday and lived up to all my expectations. Thank you for making such beautiful quality spreads.
The woven material is fantastically strong. This is a high-end product at an extremely reasonable price. And it is beautiful! We have three cats who (unintentionally) ruined our previous bedspread (from a different manufacturer), but this one is strong enough (due to the high quality yarn and the great weave) that the cats aren't damaging it. We are extremely pleased!
I'm completely satisfied with the quality of the bedspread that I bought!
