Description

The Queen Elizabeth Bedspread was first introduced by Bates in 1953, in commemoration of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation. The design was also inspired by an intricate quilt originating from the Elizabethan Era, so the name was fitting in more ways than one.

This vintage-inspired matelassé bedspread was the first of its kind to be woven on a mechanical loom, and it has been in continuous production for over 60 years (second in age only to the our classic Martha Washington’s Choice Bedspread).

This cotton matelassé bedspread commands attention with an elegant center medallion and structured framework surrounded by soft florals. The iconic design has also been known in the past as the "Elizabethan Court."

Great quality bedspread

I ordered a Queen Elizabeth queen sized bedspread from Bates Mill Store a few weeks ago. It arrived very fast, and is just beautiful. Perfect on our Statton cherry high poster bed.

Spectacular!

Years ago, my mother gave me a bedspread such as this. I’m not sure what happened to it but I’ve always tried to replicate it. I fumbled across your website, read reviews and had to have one. The price was difficult but I made it work. It is absolutely the finest bedspread I have ever had. The quality is amazingly unbelievable. I wish more people could experience this luxury. Perhaps more advertising, perhaps Amazon.

Loved mine since 1971

My husband and I received a Bates Queen Elizabeth queen size in 1971 as a wedding gift. It, and our marriage, have lasted ever since. Our is the antique color. Love, love, love it.

Beautiful

This is probably the fifth Bates bedspread I’ve had and it’s the second Queen Elizabeth spread for me. It is beautiful. My bed is a full size but sits higher off the ground. We ordered the queen size and it fits perfectly. It’s hard to describe the quality of these spreads to someone who hasn’t seen one but I've never been disappointed. Thank you so much!
