Description

The Abigail Adams Bedspread was originally introduced by Bates in 1976 during the celebration of the United States Bicentennial. This old-fashioned bedspread design was inspired by the handwoven cotton quilts that President John Adams used while serving abroad as a diplomat in France.

Many consider the Abigail Adams to be our most beautiful matelasse bedspread, and if nothing else, it is certainly the most ornate. This cotton bedspread features a central floral bust framed by French scrollwork that is further elevated by finely detailed accents throughout. 

The Abigail Adams Bedspread has also been known in the past as "First Lady's Choice" or simply "Abigail."

I bought this bedspread and pillow cover. I absolutely love it. It looks stunning in my bedroom. The Abigail Adams in the linen color is perfect for my cherry bed. This is a well-made and excellent quality bedspread. I am so happy to finally have quality and made in the USA. I would definitely buy again from this company.

Outstanding quality

I now have two bedspreads and a set of pillow shams from Bate’s Mill. One is white, one is blue with white figures. These are in daily use in all seasons.

My bedspreads are well made with a good weight. They are soft and comfortable. My grandchildren enjoy snuggling into them, as do I. My cat and my Golden Retriever also enjoy the comfort of these bedspreads despite my efforts to discourage this.

These bedspreads are well used. I need to wash them regularly because of this. They are easy to wash and dry. I have not seen any shrinkage. Any wrinkles flatten out when I buy them back on the bed.

During and after my purchase the staff at Bates’ Mill kept me informed at every step. Excellent customer communication.

These are outstanding. I am happy with my purchases and with the staff at Bate’s Mill.

BEAUTIFUL

The quality and craftsmanship of this Abigail Adams bedspread is incredible. I knew the minute I opened the package! I was so excited to receive this and it looks beautiful in my modern farmhouse master bedroom. I love that I am supporting an American business! Had a hard time finding a large enough bedspread but they definitely did not skimp on this product. I love how you have kept with tradition! If I am in need of another blanket then nothing else will do.
